7-13 February 2017, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (exact dates TBD) - WUF9, taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in February 2018, has been recognized by the General Assembly resolution 70/210 as the first session to have a thematic focus on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. 

Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

16-20 April 2018 - London, United Kingdom - The UK will host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London and Windsor. With the theme of ‘Towards a Common Future’, leaders will work to address common challenges, and focus on delivering:

  • A more prosperous future: boosting intra-Commonwealth trade and investment and maximising the opportunities offered by the ‘Commonwealth Advantage’

  • A more secure future: increasing cooperation across security challenges including global terrorism, organised crime and cyber attacks

Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) 2018

5-9 February 2018 - Geneva, Switzerland - The Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW), co-chaired by OCHA and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), is an annual event held in Geneva in the first week of February. Since 2015, this event provides a unique forum for humanitarian networks and partnerships to meet and address key humanitarian issues. Networks and Partnerships hold their annual meetings during the week, and work together to find ways to solve common problems.

2017 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction

22-26 May, Cancun, Mexico - The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (Global Platform), as recognized by the UN General Assembly, is the main forum at the global level for strategic advice, coordination, partnership development and the review of progress in the implementation of international instruments on disaster risk reduction. It was established in 2006 and is now the world's foremost gathering of stakeholders committed to reducing disaster risk and building the resilience of communities and nations.

Commonwealth Local Governments Forum

21-24 November 2017, Valletta, Malta - The Commonwealth Local Government Conference is CLGF's flagship event, held every two years in different regions of the Commonwealth. In 2017 the CLGF conference will be held for the first time in Malta. The conference brings together some 500-600 top local government policy makers, practitioners and other key stakeholders - including heads of government, ministers, mayors and council leaders, senior officials, and partners from development agencies, academia, civil society and the finance and corporate sector.
